Friedman modded red variplex incoming this weekend!

I pulled the trigger on this today, Friedman installed a gain boost, cream switch and PPIMV.Just what the doctor ordered. A few pedals with it and Im there. :rock

Man that looks like a killer amp. So what's with the variac, is that actually intended to be used with it like the name implies?
 
Yep you can bring the voltage down to wherever you think it sounds best. I think this will be fun...never experimented with one before. :D

Careful with the variac. If tube filament voltage drops below around 5.5v, tube life can be dramatically shortened. And since you have no way of monitoring heater voltage, I'd just as soon do without the Variac.

Roy has that fixed at 6.3v no matter where you have the variac set :thumbsup:

Thanks man...cant wait to plug her in. Just got off the phone with the previous owner discussing the details. The only thing that Im worried about is friedman installed the PPIMV in the presence pot...he must of hardwired the presence but to what value I don't know...to be seen...
