Has anybody had issues with the dirty channel being too bright and not enough bass? Running mine through a 1x12 8 ohm cab with V-Type speaker. The clean channel is the exact opposite, huge bass. Having to turn it down to 9-10. Running the treble and presence on the dirty channel at 9-11. Doesn't seem right. Anybody?

When I did a back to back comparison of my PT20 vs Runt 50 and Runt 20 thru a 4x12 Friedman cab I thought there wasn't as much bass too. Runt 20 had even less than the Runt 50 also. My pt20 had more bass and thickness I thought but the Runt 50 had a more defined mids and highs at high gain settings.

I sold mine for this very reason. I never had a head lower than 100 watts before the Runt, so at first I thought it was just due to the smaller power section, but then I tried an OD pedal through the clean and it had all the thump I could ever need. I ended up getting a Bogner Shiva and haven't looked back.

To be fair though, the guy I sold it to was an 80s shred guy, and he was able to cop some really great Van Halen tones from it. Those are the kinds of tones that amp was truly made to play. I'm more of a punk/alt player, so it didn't work for me.

Has anybody had issues with the dirty channel being overtly bright? When I had my Runt 50 head I found myself running the bass on the clean channel at about 9-11 o'clock. The dirty channel's treble and presence at 9-10 o'clock. Seemed really, really bright. Usually 12 o'clock is a typical setting to start with but not with my Runt. Anyone have this issue?

Sounds about right. Doesn't matter what the dial says if you're able to get the tone you're after.
