Love this amp but I'm after a Friedman BE50 Deluxe. This amp is in excellent shape and will ship in it's original box with footswitch, cable yada, yada .

Forgot to mention that, The amp currently has a solid state rectifier that I will leave in it for the new owner. Of course the 5AR4 rectifier tube will be in the box as well.

Come on! It's Friday night and I'm bored! I'm looking at this amp and my stash of 6L6 and 12AX7 tubes and wondering what a tube swap might do if anything for this amp (not that it needs it but..well ..you know the drill..lol!) At this time the amp still carry's it V card and has never been touched (other than a solid state rectifier) in any way internally and I'm chompin at the bit to dig into it..SOMEBODY STOP ME!! lol!
;)

educate me, what is the solid state rect vs stock
and how hard is it to remove/return to normal with the mentioned 5AR4 rectifier tube?

thx

The stock rectifier is an actual tube and makes the amp a bit saggier (old school tech lol!). The solid state rectifier tightens things up a bit but the difference is very subtle. It's as easy as changing a tube out.
