The Butterslax has zero similarities to an orange.
And is no where near "nice"
End of thread!

Sure does. I watched several videos of it (Butterslax) with one of them just a guy re-amping a song and tweaking the EQ and gain. Definatly has that Orange thing going on but not as ratty. Makes sense since the guy from Mastodon (I know his name is Bill but don't wanna misspell his last name) used Orange amps.

There's nothing wrong with Orange amps by the way. Lot's of guys love them.

They don't sound alike at all, I've owned both and trust me the butterslax is way clearer and more aggressive than the Orange, it also blows the DSL out of the water for raunchiness

there is a big difference between youtube videos and playing the guitar at gig volume. I can even get my ss-100 to get nasty when I crank the gain and presence and volume.

I just tried my BE with a different cab - was using a greenback loaded cab and switched to one with a V30/G12-65 mix. I like this much better than the greenbacks - A bit darker. This might be the reason I liked the DSL's "raunch" quotient since I was playing it exclusively through the darker cab.

Thanks for the input guys - sorry to the ones who lost sleep over the Orange comparison. haha

Didn't the 2016 BE update make the BE100 less smooth and refined ?

Have you tried THE BUTTERSLAX? Hello? lol It has a great raunchy, very responsive tone that makes it a great gritty blues rock amp to me.

This, the Butterslax is brutal, raunchy, aggressive. You can tame it back for vintage tones too.
 why would Dave make something he already has.
Butterslax is SUPER raunchy. See my 20+ minute vid in the main forum showing a fairly wide range of sounds. I have another I am getting ready to post with super pissed high gain goodness.
