Man, I really loved the Buxom Boost, and highly recommend it. However, I really dug the Airis Effects Savage Drive, and regretted letting one go, so I bought another. It does what the Buxom Boost does, but, IMO, better, (more aggressive), for the direction I wanted. It adds that we bit of sizzle I needed, yet stays pretty transparent. AWESOME pedal!

Love mine. How do you set yours and through what amp/setup?

I usually ran the gain very low - like 7-8 o'clock, volume maybe 11 o'clock to noon, bite around 1-2 o'clock, and tight around 10-11 0'clock. I'm still dialing it in with the Splawn Quick Rod, but used it with a Randall Thrasher, and a 5150 III 50 watt with great results.

I need to check out the Savage Drive for sure. Just wrapped up a vid with the Buxom.

I feel the opposite. Not saying the SD isn't a great pedal because it is pretty cool. To me the Buxom gets more aggressive and edges out the SD.

Probably depends on the day though lol!

I sold my Maxon OD808 to get the Buxom Boost to use with my Splawn Nitro then sold the Buxom Boost to get the Savage Drive cause it could do everything that the Buxom could do but more. Then I sold my Nitro got a KSR Orthos and found myself using my RYRA the Klone more so I sold my Savage Drive and bought a Maxon OD808.

I dont know I'm fickle about boosts but if I get another Marshall esq type amp again I will definitely get another Buxom Boost. As far as the Maxon OD808 I dont know why I keep selling them. The one being delivered tomorrow is the 3rd one in two years. This time I'm keeping it even if its off my board. With my KSR Orthos my RYRA the Klone works well cause it does what I need for this amp which is add a bit of highs and output but not change the character of the amp.

I may revisit the Savage Drive eventually but I think I'm going to try the Fortin Blade next. If I decide which Marshall type amp to grab the buxom boost wont be too far behind it.

 Savage drive and a Splawn Quick Rod!!
That's a big, tight bag of Thrash right there.....
You're gonna rip peoples heads off with that rig
Seriously, I bet that's going to sound f'n great.
Savage drive kills!

I need to give the Savage Drive a shot. Need to move a 5150 OD and/or a Mantra OD first! Can't seem to give pedals away recently.

So I went back to the Savage drive after pretty much the last month or so on the SD 805 and Buxom, and Damn! it is a great pedal. What I felt is that the Savage drive is cleaner and not quite as aggressive as either the 805 or Buxom. The other two have more hair and angrier mids to my ears as well as the ability to compress more if set that way.

None the less, the SD is bad ass for sure

I will have to look up the info on the savage drive.

I am a timmy and fulldrive guy for about everything.

Maxon OD808 is awesome. It just works with Marshall type amp. I suggest you keep it this time. Mine is here to stay.

I felt the same way with my Buxom Boost vs the savage. The main thing I like about the Buxom is how it can get a bottom end that’s massive yet still decently tight and it has those throaty lower mids

I liked the savage a lot for its tightness, articulation and upper mids, but some of my other pedals like the Standout and my Empress ParaEq I feel beat the savage and everything else I’ve tried in that department. Actually my Ethos TLE can get there too, but it’s noisy and my Timmy V1 isn’t too far behind
