What exactly do you mean???

I imagine he means super tight, dry, unforgiving, uncompromising BADASS tone.

 i think that he is struggling to get "saturation" out of the amp+pickup combination??

Meshuggah uses the recto model on their Axe Fx and the M8 was designed specifically for Meshuggah, so I would expect that the Fryette/m8 combo might not be the best. Recto vs fryette is pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum.

yup... no idea if it be in the way too unforgiving... i mean at times i find it way too much effort which i put in on Fyette amps... i have a 50CL have a used Pittbull classic and am funding for a UL but am also finding a pickup that requires lesser effort to it... i hear the lundgren M8 is a killer Pickup but very tight and very unforgiving...am afraid if i were to have it on my maple neck thru guitar its going to hurt my picking hand being very tight very unforgiving and have a hard time playing it...

am looking at bkp blackdog lundgren or warpig ? no idea which be better.. slight saturation is ok but not too much in a way it gets muddy on lows...

I have found it makes me a better player. Yes, it will be frustrating at first. But you will reap the rewards if you stick to it. Seriously, the tone is worth it. There is nothing like an ultralead being played by someone with a strong/accurate picking hand.

I can't tell you what pickup will "relax" the feel of the amp. Not sure you can. It is what it is, but it has a dedicated following of players who will say the same thing I am. It will make you play better, reward you with a crushing tone, and give you confidence to play harder/better...total vicious cycle.

I have a M8 and used to have a M6. They're bright and mid focused pickups. A brighter amp will push that into harshness. I used to have a UL and true you won't get better clarity. I didn't find it difficult to play, but I prefer something like a Mesa Mark or Diezel for clarity with a bit of saturation.

Favorite 8 string pickup ever. Those things are so badass. Like Corpse said though, it's gonna make you a better player man. Go for it!

I had my ultra lead for some years and used it with ceramic warpigs, and i had to really dig in to the strings to get the proper 'crunch'.. I much prefer the Deliverance series because the slightly warmer feeling. But you guys are correct in that the tone was awesome!

hi apophis so its really that hard to play with such pickups ? well i can guess the deliverance will be slightly more forgiving than the UL... i think the CLX is so too...

i really wanna give lundgren a try its so much clearer when compared to the BKP i heard... not saying bkp is bad and i heard there are tones where the M8 cant get like what we have with bkp... but am scared equipping my 8 string witg an M8 be an overkill especially with Fryette amps i have difficulties playing ... :( haha...

i get thick tones out from the SAS or boostiassio pedal its amazing invention by Fryette..

Well theres a lot of BKPs, but in my experience clarity is about equal between an M8 and one of the ceramic BKPs.

It seems to me the more 'unforgiving' an amp is the better the clarity is. I find that an SLO has a similar quality as a Deliverance and a great sounding Plexi/metal face nmv Marshall. Better tone=harder work to get there playing wise.

ahh thanks guys !! i have to try it... its expensive thou... haha
