Fryette Deliverance, Does it Clean up With Volume Knob Well?

I am a big fan of the Fryette stuff. I own a 2150 Power amp, owned an Ultra Lead, and a few other Pitbulls through the years. I really want simplicity for a project I have coming up, and looking hard at the D120. I really want a single channel amp that goes from mean to clean, using no pedals, or perhaps just a boost. How well do these clean up with the volume knob? My Landgraff amps do this amazingly well, but do not get the gain I need for detuned modern metal. I don't expect pristine cleans, a little bit of hair is okay, just thinking this might be a good solution. I have good channel switching amps, and some rack setups. I want this to be simple carry, plug and play single channel. Input from those who have lots of experience with these amps is appreciated.

it is very responsive to your volume knob. I mean obviously if you have active pickups that wont work, but if not then it cleans up real nice. It also has a more and less switch...

yes, very much so. you can almost use the amp as a two channel just using the volume knob.
