Has anyone tried the Fryette Power Station with the SLO?

Could this be the answer to the Loop issue and a way to get the cranked tone at low volumes?

Send it to Freidman/Rack Systems to move the loop

Plus the Power station is only 50 watts
MY SLO lost a lot of balls when i pulled 2 power tubes

What the purpose of the loop being there in the first place, instead of the mod position of the loop?

Soldano placed the loop pre tone stack instead of post tone stack, not sure exactly why.

YES it is the answer, for two reasons, it add the loop which works perfectly AND works as a killer power attenuator. The SLO sounds magical when it is cranked and this allows for that. BTW the 50W's for the power station is only if you are boosting volume, it is not lowering the wattage of the SLO. Plus you have a killer power attenuator or boost for lower wattage amps AND no mods for the SLO

Hope this helps !

This, wet/dry or Friedman modding it. Or just lose the effects, which is how I ran it out live. Even rack gear wasn't transparent for me. The power station allows for small amp re-amping, classic amps can have an fx loop(plexi, fender, hiwatt etc.). Really a great unit that is worth the cost if you have multiple amps that don't have a loop.

What's this I hear about a problem with the SLO's loop? :D

I was recently doing research on the Power station to use as a W/D with my SLO. The videos I've watched seemed to change the tone of the amp when engaged. I was thinking the PS could be the loop and power amp for a separate wet cab....but don't think it will work that way.

You sure? It has a line in and an FX loop. Don't see why it wouldn't work.

I had a Bad Cat Unleash that I tried with a Cameron Aldrich I had. Changed the tone too much, although minor...but that was solid state re amping. Fryette is tube, better formula IMO.

Maybe i'm not understanding the features. Can the Power Station be used as W/D unit? Meaning, Dry coming from SLO to main speaker cab....then effects (delay etc..) go through the Power Station and IT would power a separate WET speaker cab for effects only?

It only changes the tone of the amp if you dial it in that way

Hook up the slave out from the SLO to the line in of the Power Station.

I think the PS is meant to be a very clean, linear? power section so that it represents what your amp is doing not what it can impart on your amp. It's not going to make your raging EL34 amp sound like it's using 6L6's even though that's what the PS uses. In theory anyway. The effect of a cranked 100 watt SLO is captured as it enters the PS so the power capability of the PS is somewhat irrelevant by that stage.

I was using a power station with my slo, and i can you without reservation after trying every attenuator out there, it's currently the best attenuator on the market.
That being said, as good as the power station is, I'm now using the Suhr reactive load for my W/D/W set up, and it sounds incredible............ and It sent the power station packing.

Yup. Line out, reactive load, line out box.....these are the best ways to reproduce your amps tone with another power amp in a W/D setup.

I only use a HOF Mini in the loop on my SLO and run all other pedals out front. I also pulled two power tubes to make it work better with my Jettenuator. Last gig I played it at 50w sans Jettenuator and it sounded fine. I read somewhere that adding a BBE Sonic would add back whatever was lost by the Jettenuator. I'd love a Fryette PS, but that's a lot of money for an attenuator.

Sonic Maximizer?? On an SLO? Bro, I've only used one on an amp that borderline sucked. Let us know how that sounds...can't imagine it would improve one of the best amps available....
