How does this thing sound as a power amp? I expect it to be smaller sounding, wondering how "big" it can get.

I thought it was pretty bad compared to a VHT 2502. No balls at all.

it is what it is. don't expect it to be like a full on power amp like the 2502 or 290. its a good swiss army knife though for various configurations.

Pretty much what I figured. Smaller iron always sounds that way. When I put my 2/90/2 up against my 2150 the 2/90/2 went packing.

Thanks guys.

I liked the first one a lot, and ran it with a Mark V25, which beefed up the low end pretty significantly, but yeah, its not gonna be a good comparison to a 2502 or 2902, and if you're comparing to the 2150, fucking forget about it hahaha.

It is not designed for the regular guitar power amp.
It is for just amplifing the input as same as possible.

The manual says it can be used this way with a preamp and the unit also has depth and presence though i know its voiced to be more transparent.

Hard to beat a 2150
Hard to carry one too! LOL!

The PS series is great for powering Kempers, Helix, Axe Whatever, etc. I like them best for modelers since you usually still run direct to FOH and use the PS to power your on-stage cab. I would not use one for my main gigging or recording power amp for guitars though.

This was my Kemper through my Splawn cab and Power Station V1. The profiles are of my Quick Rod shown here. Sounds legit to me.
