Hey guys,
I just bought a Fulltone GT-500 on the Bay for a good price. I have a Fulltone Fatboost which I love, but I was looking for a dual OD pedal with independent channels. I know the Distortion side of the GT is pretty heavy, but thought if I dialed the gain down I could still get a decent low/mid gain crunch.

Anyone used this pedal before? I'd be interested in your impressions.

I have the new red one. I like it a lot actually. The distortion side to me is great because it has a nice tone to it. Not like a lot of distortion pedals where it's too raspy. I really dont like having one side running into the other though.

The way I run it now is mainly on the clean side of my Renegade. I use the OD side to add grit to my clean and the distortion side to get a more mid gain rhythm tone. I also use the OD side to boost my gain side of the Renegade to get a more tube screamer feel hitting an already gained up tone.

Cool pedal but I've heard the older white and silver models weren't so great but I really like this red one.

Thanks for the info! I got a grey version, so I hope I'm not

Haven't tested it out yet, but will do so soon and report back.

I thought the GT500 was a pile of muddy, wooly mud. I dunno... just didn't sound good, or feel amplike, at ALL for me.

Which color did you have? The red one I have sounds nothing like what you just described.
