I would just get the JH-H1 dunlop fuzz face, but I am looking for something that is pedalboard friendly, can be run on an adapter and preferably has an LED. The MXR BC108 looks to fit the bill, but sounds different in the clips. I am not set on Silicon verses Germainium, just not sure what my other options are for under $150....

I'd get the hendrix fuzz and a battery clip adapter. If you want germanium under $150, maybe a used MJM London fuzz. Germanium is great but can be finicky.

I like my Tonebender Coloursound Fuzz but it has no AC plug but if you have a Voodoolabs Pedal Power2 you can use the 9v battery connector thingy.

Has anyone tried the HBE UFO fuzz/octave or the Barber Trifecta fuzz?

After listening to a bunch of clips of different fuzz's I am wondering if just a fuzz face is right for me or I should look at something more versatile.

Build a vintage fuzz from a BYOC kit - then you can tweak it to taste. Cost you under $100. plus it's fun!
