Hey Everyone ,

I'm looking for any alternatives to the TC Electronic G System. A pedal controller that will do amp channel switching and effects combination switching as well.

My amp is not midi controllable , BTW. There seems to be a bit of controversy regarding the G System , so before I go and pull the trigger ( $1500 ) , I'd like to know if anyone knows of any similar , good options ?

Thanks.

It is THE best controller pedal and effects system available, i just love mine!!!!!!!

It`s the brain of my setup and the effects are outstanding.

Thanks.

I've got Pete Thorn's PT100 coming and I'm looking to maybe buy a G System.

Is there a difference in the red VS silver version? I read the red was a limited version.

Only difference on the limited is the color, obviously and the input buffer is different, it`s more flexible with various amps, or something like that...LOL

Hummm. I wonder how important the different input buffer really is ?

Very important. But the new silver ones have the upgraded buffers.

I find the G-System the most convenient fx/switching system, but not the best. I still don't really like the front end and the midi is more limited than say an All Access. So, just depends what is more important to you.

I have almost pushed the "buy" button on several occasions, but have held off. Every time it gets pumped up, I see an equal and opposite reaction.

It is a decent all and one solution for those that don't want to spend the $ or haul around a ton of gear. I had a few touring guitarist tell me they think it's transparent, I don't agree. And it's not on they're board.

I have the Limited and keep it for a small snatch and grab rig.

One thing I know is that NOTHING is transparent when run in front of the amp. There's always a trade-off.

I have a Red Limited Edition, best choice I ever made. As long as you know a thing or two about setting up effects units (or just read the Laird article on it) you're good to go. Four cable method works perfectly, and it is super transparent.

I have a limited version and run it 4 cable method with my mark V. its awesome, i'll never go back to tap dancing. True its not the the be all end all solution of multi fx rigs but i mean 1200 dollars for a great fx processor that has midi, relay switching, individual pedal insert loops, foot controller, and how easy it makes controlling everything in your rig is a good deal.
