Not really digging how the Vintage 30 in my Orange PPC112 is working with my LBX II, particularly at lower volumes, which is like 95% of what I do with that amp. I'm thinking about replacing it with either a G12-EVH, M-65 Creamback or Neo Creamback.
I already used to have a pair of G12-EVH's in my 4x12 at some point. I dug them. Mostly, I'd be running my 15W EVH through it, so I'm guessing the G12-EVH would be the logical match with the EVH amp, but I'd probably like to be able to run mi 20W Krank throught, and I'm guessing the 20W rating of the G12-EVH might be pushing it. I am very curious about the Creambacks too. These three speakers all seem to have the same cone, so I guess they'd share some similarities. It's also nice to know there'd be some room to run a bigger amp through the cab at some point, but it's not a priority. The weight of the Neo Creamback is also VERY appealing, especially so I can take this cab to some small jams here and there more easily.
The least efficiency to be able to turn the amp's master volume up as much as I can would be cool, and low-volume friendliness is also important. I also want a warmer, creamier, woodier low-end than the V30 that's in there has, which I'm sure these Greenback variants all have. I'm leaning towards the EVH, but I'm wondering if you guys think I might be missing out on something the Creambacks can offer. So what are the differences between these speakers?
Thanks.
