Have any of you guys tried this or more importantly have any of you guys tried it vs the Henning M-80 or the VFE standout?

I really loved the Standout and I would like to grab another but they dont show up much. I think I actually paid $400 for my standout like a sucker then I couldnt sell it when I listed it to get my money back. I should have kept it but I had something come in that I needed to pay for.

Anyway the Gary Holt mid booster looks interesting. Im also looking at the Dino sig pedal but I have no experience with Pro Tone pedals

I have one. It does not replace your OD pedal. I use it in line with the OD as does Gary. It makes a subtle difference but it allows you to dial in the mid frequencies to taste. It's not a pedal that will make a noticeable difference if you kick it on or off in the middle of a jam with a full band like an OD will.

Man I don’t see the point of this at all. The parametric eq Gary used on exhibit, the atrocity strain, blood in blood out etc, is about 75 bucks. The presonus eq3b.

Had one of those too. The mid boost is more of a "set it and forget it" option. Eq's drive me crazy.

I have all the Gary Holt stuff(from the presonus to the paranormal and the 1st run of the most recent boost from tone pros)...and guys who know how to set them up well(juggernaut mike and dwisted dave). I freely admit I am ridiculous Gary Holt fanboy

I also have the utra-hype boost from hennings that is the VFE clone that the M-80 is based on.

Mike says the tone pros Gary Holt boost is good,but very subtle compared to the Paranormal.
Dwisted Dave says the Hennings utra-hype vfe clone(M-80 precursor)is fucking awesome.

That being said....I would buy from Hennings again in a New York second! Not so much tone pros(personal reasons).
And as much as I would rather see Gary Holt get paid,from the two you are asking about I would buy the Hennings.
I believe there are others building VFE clones out there if you want to look around.

As for myself,I would use the presonus because I know how to use a parametric and hate pedals(and have a pic somewhere of Gary's settings).

This post was ment to share as much info as I have acquired and my opinion of my bros comments to me about the gear. It is not supposed to be used at any future point by friends/family/or by Gary Holt in court hearings about mental competency or in future stalking/harassment charges from Gary.

Oh shit! I forgot I got the Gary Holt Doomsday pedal prototype! I believe there is mis-spelling on it.
Got it signed by Gary thanks to Mike.
So want my other pedals signed by Gary too...but I've been advised to stay at least 200 yards away.

The mid booster is cool, it is subtle, but adds abit of bite. The paranormal is my favorite of the bunch outside of the presonus. It's got alot to it settings-wise. The doomsday was cool, but didn't really think it was better than other boosts.

Garys tone is all his, and what a tone it is.
