Gassing for a VHT/Fryette so bad

I have a 50CL that I use for my grab n go with a Diezel 2x12. I have it dialed in for hard rock and it more than does the job. I also use the fx return in my W/D/W rig. I plan to pickup the LXII whenever the damn thing comes out.

The pittbull preamp is the best high gain sound there is for me. Ive literally tried everything. The lead / rhythm sound couldnt be any more perfect for the balance between clarity and saturation.
Ive had several ultraleads but ive actually found that the CL100 is the best amp in their lineup

Anyone have a good comparison between the D60 vs. D120?
I tried both in a direct A/B with my guitar & a Deliverance 4x12 cab & much preferred the D120. But it was not like there was huge differences. They are very similar & it is only taste. Many prefer one or the other.

This was the best I have found....
" CLX has a single 12AX7 driver stage, a different power transformer, a different output transformer and Dual Class Mode. It breaks up easier and has a bit more give - besides the EL34 voice.

UL does not have DualClass switch. Never did. Neither model has ever had Enhance Mode - the switchable tube/ss rectifier function.

The differences between the 2 models has varied over time, but has been stable over the last roughly 10 years. See: http://www.fryette-users.com/forums/...-of-the-vht-ul

Difference between the D60 and D120 is the driver stage. The 120 has a 2-tube driver/PI stage similar to the UL. The 60 has the single stage like the CLX. Preamp voicing is the same, but because of the difference in output and driver stage, the 60 sounds more pissed off compared to the 120 which sounds more like a bulldozer coming down your street." - support

Lol ty.

I just copied this from Fryette forums and was gonna post it.

Ultra Lead is the amp for ya.
I've had mine close to a year and its not going anywhere
I don't use the graphic eq anymore and I think it sounds better without it.
Engaged it takes something away from the tone and kind of thins it out.

That's a bad ass rig. I've always wanted to try those 3rd power cabs. They were suppose to come give us a demo back when they first came out at Tone Merchants - but never showed...

Thats not normal. With the graphic engaged and all sliders at the 0 center point there should be no change in tone at all. You can toggle the eq switch on the back from the on/off position to check.
The graphic is parametric in nature. It can cut and boost frequencies and there's some overlap at certain settings. I can say for sure however that it will not inherently change the "tone" of the amp other than the the selected boost/cut frequencies u choose to alter.

Is that Luke the ST/50?I lived the ST but it had to be about 9 o'clock to sound good so it never got used at home.
SigX is my Fryette of choice.

I also live the Deliverance but the lack of a loop, I can not do.

The SigX rules but it is compressed so cutting a band mix can be tough.

Thanks man, I really love it. Spent about 8 months with this setup and it simply kills. Next steps are to upgrade the rack enclosure, swapping out the GMajor2 for an Axe (probably Standard), and I'm kicking around the idea of trading out the Pittbull for the LXII if it ever surfaces (and adding a 4th cab   ). I'm very happy with the Pittbull though. Been tracking a lot with it lately.

LOL... boutique amps are like super models. Once you've had a couple, you realize that personality rules over all!

Anyways... I had a UL for about 8 months and then sold it. Used it at band practice and gigged it several times. But we were doing mostly hard rock and the Bogner XTC that I also had at the time just had more personality and vibe for my tastes. The VHT was a very good amp. Just didn't reach-out, grab me, and say "you GOTTA keep me!"

Obviously, I am in the minority on my lack of affection for that amp. Certainly didn't hate it. Just never excelled for me (even with a tube swap). Was more versatile than the Bogner Twin Jet that I also had at the house at the time (was a buddy's), but the TJ sounded girthier and had more personality as well to my ears.
