A Carvin CT6 in "Great" condition for $2850??

Either GC is trying to make a killin' on that guitar, or whoever sold that to them was laughing all the way to bank. I don't know if it's changed, but it used to be that they would pay ~60% of what they would sell something for. If that still holds true, then they paid ~$1700 for that, which is about $200-$500 more than these go for at normal retail.

So crazy!! I remember quite a long time ago seeing a decked out Carving for $400. I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT. I didn't 'need another electric ' at the time.

When I asked the store what was wrong with it, because it was like a mint condition $2k+ build, they replied: Nothing. No one knows who Carvin is so it's cheap.

If only those were still the days.....

Let's be real, if we posted about every oddly priced item on GC used nobody would get anything else done. Sometimes stuff just gets priced randomly because the guy doing the buying doesn't know wtf he's doing. Sometimes high, sometimes low.

Agreed, but dang! :ROFLMAO:

The GC in Hallandale Florida has a shitload of used gear with blue masking tape on it saying it’s broken and for parts only, but they still list it all at normal pricing.

What a bunch of assbags

While messed up, at least I can respect the fact that they are telling you up front that it's busted and not just selling it on to another unsuspecting buyer. How many times have we all heard stories of gear that was damaged in shipping and returned, only to pop back up for sale listed as "Excellent" condition only to be sold on again and again. I bought a Mesa Roadster Combo that arrived absolutely destroyed, returned it and watched it move through at least two more GC's before it was finally listed as damaged and sold "as is" for a reduced price but still too much.

It's convenient many times. And sometimes you find someone that actually knows something. I get the hate, but I hope they make it.

They pay no more than 35% the used value based on reverb and eBay sold prices. That’s their policy now

How recent is that? Up until around August, which is the last time I went in to sell, I was getting quoted 60% of their planned sale price.

About every time I’ve gone I’ve only gotten 35% of the used value otherwise they don’t even take it. Past few years.

I went to that store recently. A lot of decent gear there compared to other GCs. Saw tape on one amp that said, “does not work.” Understaffed and shitty customer service. :)
