What do you guys think of the Home Brew Germania Volume Boost pedal? I'm thinking of buying one to give me more volume for solos on my Rickenbacker 12 string. I need a pedal that gives me a clean boost. I also use a Janglbox compressor.

HBE builds a solid product. You can find sound clips on youtube too.

For a clean boost I use a Baja boost, which isn't well known but is really solid.

The Germania Boost is really cool, I had one.... got talked out of it cause Gary Holt just HAD to have one.

But they are definetely cool.

I have one and love it, but it is not a clean boost in the traditional sense. It is a treble booster in the Brian May style used to push an already overdriven amp into meltdown. It adds quite a bit of noise to the signal because of the way it works. If you're simply wanting a clean boost, an EQ pedal is a good choice as are the RC & AC boosters from Xotic. One other consideration is your signal path. What are you running through, and how do you intend to connect your new boost?

Not for a 12 string. Its gonna put you into Huble Pie territory quickly and I don't think thats where you want to go. A GE-7 would work or a very clean boost of some type. I use a Menatone VOS for clean boost.
