Plasma doesn't mean it's automatically better. Have you even looked at this thing in person? Checked it's features?

There are lots of discs out there.
It is just a DVD that runs you through like 100 steps/tests to setup all the colors, balances, contrasts, etc.
I bought this one:
http://www.ovationmultimedia.com/avia.html
I think it was about 100$.
But there are a lot more for a lot less. I went on info i got from the AV geeks on the AVS forums and a local specialty shop.
The more tests, the better, but also the more expensive the discs.
I made my money back on it though, i charge people (friends family) like 5-10$ to calibrate. It takes about 1.5 hours. But it is like night and day.

Also keep in mind that there are some settings/adjustments that the normal user remote can not do. You have to have a service remote to have access to those settings.

Most of them are basic from the TV menu. I've used it on everything from Sharps, Sony, Panasonic, Smansung, Hitachi, Olevia, ... both LCD and Plasma
I have found that the LCDs always have a few more adjustments.
But they also need the most adjustments from factory.

DLPs are nice. There were a few really nice DLPs at CES this year.
Even though i am kind of a AV geek, i am in no way a fanboy of whichever technology.
DLP, LCD, Plasma, who cares. As long as the picture is great and the price is right
I do however, prefer LCD for games.

I think the DLPs are improving as well. Now they are using LEDs in place of the lamps that burn out and they are getting rid of the color wheel technology. I wonder how long the LEDs will last??
I think for my next TV, hopefully this Summer, I'll look at another DLP or a LCD. Though the LCD TVs are still pretty expensive. I guess I'll just have to check them all out and see what looks best. The technology is changing so fast!!
