Getting the BEST out of your EVH 5153 50? Tubes? Tips?

Got mine yesterday, and I love it! However, I'm not sure I'm digging the all JJ preamp section. I gotta think a good mix of good tubes would really bring it to life? Maybe lower gain? Anybody re-tube soon after getting?

I changed the preamp to chinese c5/C5+ and the power to SEDs. Set the bias to where it should be. I thought it sounded better.

Yeah, I need to check the bias as well. SED's are too damn expensive, however.

I never really found accurate info. It was about 28 when I got it, and I raised it to 31. Seemed to warm it up, tonally.

Ive heard quite a few people say their head came with JJ's, mine came with Grove Tubes power and pre.

this is the first amp I took out of the box and started gigging with ...Never took apart and changed tubes yet lol.
