Gibson USA continues to raise the bar of Quality, Prestige and Innovation with the new line up of 2015 guitars. All Gibson USA guitars except for the Les Paul Supreme, Firebird and Derek Trucks SG will ship with the G-Force tuning system. Among many of the added features is the new Zero Fret Nut which is a patented applied for nut that has adjustable action capabilities. The new Tune-O-Matic Bridge features a hex wrench adjustment on thumbscrews for easy action adjustments. All guitars receive a professional set up with accurate intonation, and a new PLEK program with 27% lower fret wire. All models now have Pearloid Inlays and the fingerboard is a thicker one piece rosewood which is sanded and buffed with a new oil treatment for smoother and easier playability. To take it a step further Gibson USA has increased playing comfort by widened the neck and fingerboard by .050 per side. Spearing no expense, Gibson USA even changed the internal wires from 28 awg to 26 awg, along with a new and improved jack design and together they give you an improved uninterrupted signal. For 2015 Gibson will be producing gloss lacquer finishes and no more Satin or Vintage Gloss finishes. On top of all the upgrades Gibson USA did not stop there. They are now introducing a removable Les Paul pick guard with NO SCREWS NEEDED. In honor of Les Paul's 100th birthday all LP and SG guitars will carry the 100 logo on the headstock and a Les Paul Hologram on the back of the headstock for authenticity and tribute to the man himself. To wrap everything up, each 2015 Gibson USA guitar ships in a Gibson Hard Shell case.

Widening the fretboard is probably a good idea. Sometimes the fret-over binding seems to take away too much space at the edges of the neck. The no-screw pickguard also is neat, and the hologram is a good idea because of all the counterfeit issues.

I'd want more info about the adjustable nut. Looks like it just has a bass-side and treble-side set screw that can be adjusted up or down. That's not a terrible idea, but also not difficult to accomplish with shims, and the shims allow your choice of nut material. But the set screws definitely would be faster to adjust.

insane..not worth it even if they knock off $1000. No thinks, I'll buy used Re-Issues / Historics much cheaper that these brand new.. Zero fret and a LP script logo that looks like a 1st grader learning how to write? No thanks.

Also the widening of the FB is really narrowing of the binding that they increased to use less real wood but never marketed it as such lol

What do they want for a LPC now? $7000?

And people thought I was an idiot buying a used LPC for $999 in 1990.

What's with the 27% lower fret wire? Gibson frets are too small for me already, and you are taking 1/4 of them off? I would have to buy one and send it in for a refret immediately.

Over $3700 for a Standard?

next headline... all gibson music stores slash prices after nobody buys them.

they already dropped 2014 10% on map, sometimes it feels like selling cars with them

Shit, I better raise the prices on my original Les Paul Custom Lite and rare '90s Candy Apple Red SG I was selling. I clearly have them way too low right now...lol

Wow, crazy prices. Not sure I like the changes, would have to try one to know. I will say I am not a fan of wide nexts. The wide necks you find on a typical Jackson guitar are just not for me. If a gibson neck feels anything like that, than I will probably not like it.

i paid 3k for a new Gibson black beauty 57 reissue in 2003. Since then Ive bought Prs, Charvel, Music man and all other makes of 2-3k guitars. Today I would not dream of spending that kind of cash on a guitar. Ill take a Kramer Pacer, Charvel San Dimas or EVH Striped series all day long though. Cheap guitars dont burn as bad when the market tanks or they get damaged gigging.

Im getting old. I can afford a 2015 Gibson but I'd rather have an $800 guitar.

 wtf prices indeed, i do wonder how the cheaper p90 guitars are , quite like the look of the double cut special

it's not that their prices went up, our currency has been going down steadily in value, and at a high rate of speed the last ten years have you been to the grocery store lately, not to mention regulations and USA wages. it's no wonder.

what is g force tuning system?

Apparently "Min E tune" didn't sound manly enough so they just changed the name.

I have a couple mid 90's Gibsons (335 and LP Standard). I will stick with them vs this stuff. for my $$ I would rather buy a Suhr and have it made to my specs etc.
