Just got a goldtop and I know I am not going to like the pickups that come with it, it's the Burstbucker 1/2 combo and not the Classic/Classic Plus combo, which I would leave in there.

My options are I throw the bridge Burstbucker in the neck and put a Duncan Custom or Rio Grande BBQ or Gibson 57 Classic Plus in the bridge.

I know I love the Duncan Custom but, I've never heard a Rio Grande and, I've played on the Classic Plus briefly but, liked it a lot. I play Metal and some Hard Rock etc....

What should I do?

I think I'm gonna get a nickel covered Duncan SH-5 Custom. I've had the best luck with that pickup and I've literally been threw thousands....

Definitely stay with the nickel covers.
I had a set from the custom shop that had really nice age nickel covers
They would look cool in your Paul.

Just bought a Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom Pickup Nickel Cover. $90 Shipped. Gonna go with the tried and true for me. I remember liking the burstbuckers as neck pups so, I won't change the neck.

I have Bursbucker neck & Duncan Custom bridge in one of my LPs. Really good pickups on their own & they sound awesome together in the middle position.
