Im thinking about trading EVH Wolfgang Special for a Gibson Les Paul Studio what do some of you think about this.Thanks....

In my opinion a les paul would be closer to Edwards early sound then a basswood body guitar if you know what I mean.Ed didnt start using basswood until 1986.Ed did play Gibson type guitars in the early days like his destroyer.Almost all of Van halen 1 first album was done with a destroyer(gibson type guitar)he also used a white Gibson les paul custom on the 78 tour.Eds original franky used a fender type trem no floyd rose.I have a mint/new condition(japan made)EVH Wolfgang special in gloss black original shipping box if someone is interested.(offer me a price)

I'd keep the EVH myself. Studios to me are far too hit or miss and just wannabe LP's.

Standards, Traditionals and Customs are LP's to me, not Studio, jr's or melody makers but that just me ;) The studios with a maple cap that they leave unfinished to simulate body binding are pretty cool. The neck not being bound juts looks naked to me.

The only difference would be is the binding.Wannabee it is a les paul....Explorers are the same no binding.

I changed my mind, anyone have a new mint condition Gibson Les Paul Studio(wine red-color) thats want's to make a trade.
