Need an LP again and have been looking at a few bursts and gold tops in the Used market.....seems like they are selling for around $1,800...seems a bit rich for guitar with a New price of $1,999 ? Anyone got any experience/thoughts on price and these guitars they can share.

50s neck? 60s neck? I had an older Trad Pro (2008 or 9) and it was a great player....no idea what the neck was, thinking 50s, since it was baseball bat like :-)

Here's an update, snagged this for $1,499 - a 2013 Trad model. Exactly as I remembered my 2009, really big (50s) neck but sounds and looks like an LP....

Seems you can get a trad pro/II on the GC website for $1,300 - $1,400. Watch and they'll drop them to $1,200 every now and then.

I got a trad plus a while back and the thing absolutely kicks serious ass. I played a ton of les pauls before I got this one, and it is as good or better playing/sounding than most I came across and is a l,ot cheaper than custom shop models. I got mine of san fran craigslist for 1500 I think. there are some great deals on there right now. mine came with a wolfetone dr vintage in the bridge and it is a great pickup, I am very happy with it and the guitar. it is quite heavy though, but I don't mind.

These were being blown out brand new for 1200-1400

People are selling them high because they bough them new. Would not pay that for a Trad pro 1 or 2 really.

The price you mention will get you a used trad + or even a used R8

Definitely agree that's too high. +1 for the 2013 Traditional (minus Pro or whatever). Had I liked one of the finish options, I'd have one of those instead of my '80 goldtop.

Btw, does anyone here know if the 2013 Traditional has a long neck tenon?

Negative :( I believe its short. But I can't tell when I'm playing it

Yeah, but I can tell when I pull out the neck pickup!

I think they're great for the price. Althouhg for used, that's way high. You can get them for 1400 or 1500 any day of the week.

As for long or short tenon. We played the standards for years which are short tenon. we disin't even know what that meant. We just knew if it played and sounded good or not.

Well mine is short too... It's just that they're the first production LP without weight relief that I know of since the early 80's. Stuff like that and the long tenon are usually reserved for the Historic Customs. I was just curious how much of it they're putting into the Traditional.

Must just be the eBay factory then..have been looking for couple of weeks and struggling to find a Gold Top or a Honey/Light Burst Flame for anything like that reasonable....well except the one I just had a sellers remorse deal on

Could be just timing though...found some gold tops around $1400-$1500 completed listings :-/

There's a 2010 Traditional Pro on my local CL that has been floating down in price over the past few weeks. I personally love the traditional pro, either with the 60's or 50's neck. It's sitting around 1300 right now and it looks to be in great condition. I can pm you a link to the post, if you're interested.

Nice LP!

FWIW, I had two Trad Pro's with 60's necks and loved them both! Only have one now because I traded the other for a Trad Plus with 50's neck straight up. The Trad Pro is still my #1.
