Hello,

I'm trying to restore an old 1979 Flying V I recently bought and got 2 "T-Tops" off ebay classified for a good price.

Now these look a bit odd to me...first of all only one of them has the T on the bobbins, they both have two rows of adjustable poles and they both read around 16.2kΩ

AFAIK T-Tops should only have around 7.5?

what pickups are these?
Any help appreciated

Thanks!
Any idea what these should go for used? I paid 200 for both of them.
Now I just have to find 12 pole screws to replace the gold ones with

I would SO Schenker that thing !!! Love a nice Gibby V !!!

I would also say they are dirty fingers. I have a pair in my 82 Explorer E2 and love them. The only factory pickups I've ever kept in guitars are these and regular Shaws in my 81 Silverburst LPC. I know they get hyped up but I believe for good reason. You got a good price on them. Congrats

The 500Ts specs look awful close (without the double row of screws) to the Dirty Fingers.

I'm thinking about comparing this V with DF to my newer Gibby V with 500T...although to be fair there's a lot of other things that have changed between those two versions and that are definitely contributing to the tone as well (mainly neck angle and body thickness)

I LOVE 70s-early 80s Gibsons, I have a pile of them. 3 1981 Les Pauls and an Explorer and a 6/12 double neck.
