Gibson SG backplate

Hey, i've noticed that my 2000 SG is too shallow to mount an EMG boost into it, and that's something i'd really like to do at the same time i get new pickups. Anybody know if there are manufacturers that make a raised backplate to make the body cavity at least 1/4 inch deeper?

I liked the PA2, but thats 1 1/4 inches, where the cavity is 1 flat. The AB looked smaller and I called EMG for the actual dimension and the tech just said it wouldn't fit.

I could just buy another backplate and drill a hole but that's a little too 'ehhhh' for me

That is what I would suggest, most music stores stock the AB so you should look into that option, I think the SPC may fit as well but I am not too familiar with it.

Yeah, the SPC just doesnt seem like what i'm looking for unfortunately

The AB is pretty much a PA2 just in a push pull type knob format. Check it out and see if it fits, I have one in my LTD baritone Viper which is very similar to a SG body.
