Up for sale is my 2009 SG Special Faded Edition in the rare white finish with ebony fretboard. It's simply a theory, but after trying to track down one of these for a while, I came to the conclusion that the white finish models were a small production batch and largely shipped to Asian markets, as they seemed to be few and far between stateside. As such, I imported this guitar from Japan.
The ebony fretboard is a game changer in my opinion. Just has a super silky feel to it. I can also say that this guitar is hands down, the acoustically loudest guitar I have ever owned. I don't know if it's the minimal faded finish or what, but it rings very loudly. Neck is a nice, chunky 59 type of deal. Just an awesome all around specimen of an SG.
The guitar has been professionally set up and is loaded with a Motor City Pickups Detroiter in the bridge and a Wolfetone Marshallhead in the neck. I dare you to find a better pickup combination for an SG. It has a new wiring harness with 500k pots (the 300k pots sucked), and also has Kluson locking tuners (direct replacement). I can include the original Gibson pickups as well (490s I believe?).
Condition wise, it's good. It's VERY important to understand the faded finish - it is raw by nature. So no major bangs or bruises on this one, but just know that the finish is raw right out of the factory, and that's really the charm of this guitar. It sounds and feels great, but you can also wield it like a battle axe.
I dig this guitar, but I am not 100% an SG guy, and it makes far more sense for me to put the guitar in the hands of someone who will rock it. Comes with a Gibson gig bag, and if you are REALLY nice, I will include a Japanese songbook for free. Well packed, insured, and shipped to you for SOLD. NO TRADES.
