Gibson Signature Guitars

I think that the crazy prices charged by Gibson for these artist series Les Paul guitars are insane. Everyone knows that each one sounds different and will not guarantee a good sounding Les Paul. I bought my 1973 Deluxe in the late 1980's and it is a total monster after all the mods that were done to it over the years, that are not known to most people. The peeps at Gibson repair and restoration really liked this $425.00 guitar when they were done with it, about 1200.00 later. Plane and refret, bone nut, Tonepros bridge and ABR-1 tailpiece, SD PG neck and CC bridge pickups, and RS Guitarworks electronics.

Em yea…like all the large brands these days…it’s more about collecting paychecks based on selling nostalgia/lifestyle than actual value or even quality in some cases…doesn’t stop me from buying the gibsons I want to own but the weird idolatry thing has gone too far imo
