Gigmaster 15 footswitch

I recently bought this amp (head version), and the manual implies that any two button latching footswitch should work. I have one, the footswitch itself works (tested with multimeter), but it doesn't work with the amp. Lights both come on as soon as it's plugged in, no switching happening.

Any ideas?
