I love David Gilmour, his tone and his playing. Looking at those pictures makes me want to go home and just plug straight into the amp.

Damn that's a lot of stuff! But it sounds so good though. And I've always admired how Dave's tones have never sounded gimmicky or over-processed, yet they sound rich, even if there are a lot of effects used. Very tasteful.
I guess that's helped by Pete Cornish?
