K, so I was recently searching for a new amp but I have kind of hit a wall somewhat, I decided to give my amp a little more of a go before selling it and looking elsewhere. But I was gonna see if the wizards around here could help me maybe get what I am looking for.

The gear I am working with is:
Peavey 6534+ (stock tubes, maybe a year old)
Krank Rev cab with eminence V12s
Way huge green rhino re-issue
Noise gate
G major 2
Kirk hammett cry baby and some other stuff but the only thing that matters right now is the head/cab/boost

Guitar wise, as of Monday my main guitar will be an Ibanez UV70p with Dimarzio blaze pickups but I am also using an RG8 with dacts in it

The tone I am searching for is: I have always loved his tone, even more so on the new record.

He uses an EVH 5150 III with a marshall cab far as I read.

Is there a way settings wise that I could get something real close out of what I have? I know the EVH and the 6534 are like cousins so I thought maybe it would be attainable. Maybe a different boost pedal perhaps? Maybe the 6534 users could give me some settings suggestions or would there be tubes that would help out?

Thanks kindly in advance everyone.

Anyone? I am headed to my space today to mess with settings so if anyone has ideas lmk.

I think with that amp you should get that tone easily.
When watching the video...you hear the total POLISHED mix
In a live setting....if you rocked your amp to that song. No one...would be able to tell the difference. It would sound like the song (Granted your band plays it that tight) :D
So dont over think the tone.

Yah I know it's layered and polished etc but I was more so looking for some EQ setting ideas and / or boosting options. :)

Try the old 666 settings on your amp & go from there (everything at 1 o'clock)
Put a clean boost in front- gain at zero or close to it

Avoid all the reverb delay chorus swirly swirl stuff- keep it dry & in yo face & see how that sounds

Go strait in, no effects ,loop off and get a base tone, then add your boost. Personally, I don't boost with that amp. Then add an EQ in the loop and you should get that tone easy. Even with no EQ you can get that tone, but the EQ will let you attain any high gain tone you'll need.

As far as settings go, it's really hard when your not there in the room, it's all too subjective, room acoustics, pickups, carpet, playing style. Almost impossible.

I've got a GE7 and an MXR KK 10 band, I really like the MXR. My GE7 is modded but a stock one does the job too.

They're are others but I don't have any experience with them so I cant comment.

I play Parkway drive and Killswitch with this amp and it nails those tones. Ozzy, Leppard, name it, it can do it.

Looking into a few options, Ill pick something up later this month, thanks for all the advice folks

WOAH,,, total fan boy moment. I messaged Revocation on Facebook to ask Dave about his settings and gear and he responded within the hour with all the information I needed. I don't often get taken back by things like that but wow, that's cool :D

I will post them once I get a second message from him clarifying something he said in his first message.

Ok so here's how he sets his EVH III 5150 100 Watt.

He uses the red channel which is the lead channel for all rhythm and solos, he doesnt switch over. He sets the gain around 6-7, the bass and treble are around 5 and the mids around 6, the presence at around 2.

Here's a link to his set up explained by Dave himself.
