Since I bought my Les Paul 60’s Tribute a few months ago, it has just been a pure joy to play. I’ve always loved the sound of P90s, but had sold off all of my P90 guitars. This one is giving my number one a run for the money. It was a nice day outside today, so I thought I would try to get some better pics of the burst color.

Just wondering have you compared the new P90's to a vintage set? Do you hear a difference?

I love 50s P90 tones. The best sounding guitar that I've ever played in my life was a 1956 Les Paul Jr. That guitar was just magic! I've thought about searching for a pair of 50s P90s, but from the research that I've done Gibson has never changed the specs on their P90s. And from the people whom I've talked to, that I trust on these matters, I've been told that Gibson is producing some of the best P90s of the manufacturers building P90 pickups. I love the tones that I get from this guitar. It's such a nice change of pace from my Les Paul Classic, loaded with Burstbuckers. The only thing that I've changed was to replace the stock 300k volume pots with some 500k ones. I also did the 50s wiring mod- which I've done on all of my Gibsons, as I think it makes a big difference to the tone and feel of a Les Paul.
