Im pretty sure back then, Steve used a guitar loaded with EMG singles for that tone.. he recorded that direct to the board too if i remember correctly. Into the Dimension D rack, and into the board.. with a ton of that 80's super squish compression

NO shit, compression big time and it sounds like the guitar's action is floored to the board These were also his Hamer days but was also screwing around with those Roland synth guitars.

Oh Scott by the way.. i hooked up my Wet/Dry system differently last week, i setup the CAE Dual stereo line mixer with a G-Major, an Intellifex and a Boss SE-70. Im getting killer supersoaker tones ala Huff/Luke/Stevens and im only using 1 wet cab.. imagine what it'l be like with a true W/D/W system?!
The Intellifex is being used for micropitch shifting/chorusing.. G-Major for verb and the SE-70 for delay. The two delay patches im switching back and forth between on the SE-70 are Stereo Pan Delay which is huge.. Or a really lush Mod Delay when i want that extra 80s edge added to it
