Hi Rigtalkers!
I need some help from the Marshall experts here. I am possibly interested in buying a Marshall Super Bass from 1974. Does anyone know, what this amps go on the current market?
Guy says it has been serviced and is in very good working condition. Don`t know if it was modded or anything (no visible holes from the outside) but will ask tomorrow.

Specifically ask about transformers.

They always say it was just serviced so I take that with salt but it may be. If no parts were replaced then 'serviced' just means things were checked, and maybe a bias adjustment.

In any case, check Reverb/ebay sold listings (ignore all for sale listings) and consider that to be the absolute highest you should pay.

I would say 3K if all original. The Power transformers on these were the ones to go, so make sure it’s a legit original. If the PT is replaced then value drops to 2-2500. If both transformers are replaced then it’s like a clone (almost) in value. A Marshall with original transformers but many other components replaced is worth far more than the opposite.

Thanks guys. Good idea to ask about the transformers!
