Been a big fan for a long time but never got to see them live.
I figured go see them now before they go on a 13+ year hiatus again.
Anyone go see them last winter or this year?

Just wondered, the show starts at 7:30pm and I know they have an opening band that is not my cup of tea...
Will Tool actually come out around 8:30pm? Can't wait for tomorrow.

Congrats, i've seen them a couple of times. Enjoy the show!

Just saw them last week in San Jose. Good show. You'll enjoy it.

They are killer live! Saw them in May, great show. Can't remember what time they came on but seemed like it was a bit late.

How bad is it if you are off to the side (not completely to the side) of the stage. And is one side better than the other? I'd like to see them in ATL next week but not for a hundo.

So how was the show?

It was amazing. The band as a whole sounded awesome.
Danny was a monster... he hit(more like attacked) the drum set so fxxxin hard while never missing a beat! I was just in awe of seeing him play.
Maynard sounded amazing too considering his age, he can still sing really well hitting the high notes. in the middle of a song, he did a funny act like he was stealing one of Adam's guitar cabs. When Adam wasn't looking he lifted a marshall 4x12 cab(probably an empty cab as he lifted it so easy) and moved it to the other side of the stage then sitting on top of it laughing like he successfully pulled a prank on Adam.
I actually couldn't hear Adam as well in the beginning but as the show went on the sound got better. He had a 3 amp setup: two diezel VH4 with 2 mesa cabs and a marshall(probably superbass) with a marshall cab playing his LPCs.
I was surprised to see it was actually Justin that did a lot of synth sound in the songs using his bass with pedals, gained even more respect for the man.

I actually saw them off to the side. I sat 2nd from the very end and I chose the left side so that I can see Adam closer.
After seeing the show and checking out recent youtube live clips, facing the front of the stage is probably the best way to enjoy the show as they have visual effects going on with lightings and shooting laser beams like crazy. From where I was seeing it was kind of hindering the whole experience. I enjoyed the show nevertheless, glad I got to see them live finally!

Very cool, glad it was a good show and sounds like they brought it. I think all that gear is just to keep people guessing, he clearly uses a Line 6 POD, probably hidden behind everything....(just joking, before anyone takes me serious)

Stoked the OP enjoyed the show!!

I never miss Tool, and will often fly around to catch a number of their shows on the same tour. I just fucking love Tool.

They're just flat out magic. And yes, Chancellor is a goddamn BEAST when you watch him live. We take for granted just how much of their sonic canvas comes from that man. He's amazing. Carey?? Fawgeddabowddit...guy's next level. All of them. But that's the secret sauce - the sum of all 4 members is what creates the 5th element.

That being "Tool" :worship:
