Fuck yes, brilliant disc, though they could have eased up on the bend-up pinch harmonics. :)

Yama's Messengers off their latest one just crushes.

Great band. Have From Mars to Sirius, The Link, Terra Incognita, and the Way of All Flesh by them.

ocean planet may be my favorite metal song of the last decade.

Man guys I was on a thrash metal journey today and MAN the number of great modern metal material out there is mind blowing.

Tell me about it. Their use of diminished chord structures is brilliant.

But I got to say I listened to everything from GoJira I could find on YT and not one song disappointed me at all.

haven't heard their more recent albums but some killer tracks on the first two , check out these sick live versions, real nice and heavy - both ripped from DVD:

flying whales:

and 'rememberance'

Dude more like 0:00-4:15 bro!

I can officially say and testify that GoJira is one if not the most badass metal bands around as we speak.
GoJira are my absolute favorite Blackened Death metal, Death metal, Progressive metal, Technical death metal, Groove metal, Thrash metal, whatever metal band in my arsenal.
I f'n love these guys. So rich, classy, full of dynamics and posses an absolutely beautiful style.
I never really liked thrash type metal, especially the kind where it sounds like a f'n chaotic massacre of swarming bee hives coming down.
GoJira is exceptionally special and purely unique in this man’s opinion.

One of the sickest metal bands I've ever heard, heavier in many ways than all the bands that play in drop G. Proof that low tunings are -not- necessary for sounding heavy.

These guys are f*ckn nasty!!! I just recently got into them (within 6 months). did anyone see Periphery's April fools joke tour poster haha Gojira was listed. I wish this tour would actually happen it would be unreal

I was trying to talk my band into doing a cover of Flying Whales and making it not heavy at all. They almost went for it, but it never happened.

It would have been bad.

Yah ashesofphoenix - NASTY GOOD!

I'll be honest with you; I've been listening to Lamb of God and MESHUGGAH for quit some time. However after I discovered GoJira all that changed. MESHUGGAH seems boring for me now compared to GoJira. It's almost like going from a bloated Cadillac to a sleek precise Maserati – no comparison for me.

Agreed! and well said

I love it when they get atmospheric like on Flying Whales and World To Come but can get bored of the tunes that are a lot of repetitive double bass riffs. When Flying Whales gets heavy it's as good as metal gets. They have their own sound and more often than not it's pretty interesting. Definitely hear a Voivod influence in this band. Not a huge fan but like some of their stuff a lot.

Ah... now this explains the 8 string. Cool stuff.
In a sense this is true Bob. A major influence on the lower tunings. I've always wanted to move into that realm. However, GoJira uses only 6 string guitars and down tunes.
