First off, I live in an area where I just don't have the ability to really try gear out. I have been getting more into blues lately. Various types, from bb king to srv texas style. I love good Fender clean tones also but amps like the Blues Jr left me wanting more. It sounded really box to me. I'd also like an effects loop and something not overly loud for home playing. Again, since I can't really try out anything around here other than line 6 or similar....what tube amps might you suggest? I realize this is wide open for tons of suggestions and subjectiveness but hey...it's Rigtalk....I wanna know what y'all have to say haha

Mesa Subway Blues. Killer amp and cheap. Reverb, loop, and and it will do the job great. I think I got mine under a little under $300. Well built and extremely reliable. I have used it at blues jams for six years.

My buddy has an Orange Rocker 15 and he mostly plays blues. I know it has a feature where you can knock it down to like 0.5w.

I had a Rocker 15 for a few days. Good idea. The tiny terror is a decent cheap option too.

The Ibanez Tube Screamer amps are also pretty cool. Especially the heads that you can run into good cabinets.

Mesa ElectraDyne
Mesa Lonestar
Any Dumble clone
Marshall JVM410h
Marshall Vintage Modern
Orange AD30
The clean channel from a Bogner Alchemist is great for blues. The OD channel however, isn’t great.

Old Ampeg combos are going for cheap and sound great. IMO, a loop isn't needed since not much OD is happening in the amp.

Maybe a Fender Princeton with a couple pedals? My buddy uses an old silverface one with various pedals (Blues Driver, Soul Food, Timmy, etc) and swears by it! Sounds better than the Blues Jr to me. Not great for doing tight rhythms though, more for sweet leads. Cheers
