I actually got okay sounds out of a metal zone into the clean channel of an MG80

fuzz pedal into dd3 into front of an old Musicman amp.

Only time i'm ever nailed the violin sustain.

I used to use a MZ into a 60s Fender 410 combo (can't remember the exact model). I was jamming at a buddy's house. He's a drummer and the combo was his uncle's. It sounded huge! There's actually one setting on the sweepable eq on that pedal that doesn't sound like a cocked wah.

Oh, and I also got good tone out of a JCM 900 MKIII !!!!! Yeah, I said it.

I wouldnt call a 1960's Fender 4x10 a shitty amp... but that is just me

I had a buddy that ran a metal zone into the front end of a peavey VTX Heritage 2x12. 120W 2x12 with 6L6's and a SS front end. Damn good clean tone and DAMN that amp was fucking loud

It sounded absolutely killer

We have also done the MZ into the front end of an old fender 2x12 tremolo. It actually sounded great - completely usable.

Your a Liar! :gethim:

LOL   kidding....

People hate on the Marshall Lead 100, I had one and would again for the right price, that thing boosted was fucking cool! Kinda like an 800, without tubes... It was loud as hell and took boosts very well. Some one offered $200 when I was trying to grab a Vintage Modern so... (ANOTHER amp I miss! lol)

Another wierd cheap "Holy shit that sounds pretty good" was my Behringer, (I know!) Vintager 110 combo. 30 watt clone of the Trademark amps. with British/high gain/English cab switches on, and the amp dimed, it always got mad respect at low level band practices... Go figure!

It of course, eventually, caught fire and died by fire!
Funny thing is it waited 5 years from new to do so, pretty fukkin good for Behringer!

had a line6 spider 2x10 (the first version)

used to slave it into a marshall 100 mgcd and it sounded phenomenal...until it too, caught fire...

im 4 projects deep, but someday i plan to get under there and try to fix it. probly more hassle than it's worth though at this point..that was like 10 years ago...but it was a great lil' grab n go amp for jam nights and shit like that.

Peavey transtube Rage 15 watt 1x10. Was a practice amp at school and it even helded up with the jazz band. Played a larger transtube and was pleasantly surprised with that too. 1x12 80 watter.

The sound of it hitting concrete after being thrown off a balcony.

Well depending on your definition of shitty, but I had an old Randall RG-100 es that I bought for 100 bucks that was mean as hell. Grey carpet covered ugly peice of crap but I can definately see why Dime used them. . .

No, the Fender was excellent! I was just responding to the OPs message about the metal zone.  I offered Layne (owner of amp) some stuff as trade bait for the Fender but he didn't bite.

Early 80's.......Strat w/ Duncan humbuckers into a Jap Boss DS-1, MXR 10 Band EQ, Boss CE2, into a POS transistorized GK amp into a Marshall 4X12
