Just got Billy Corgan’s Machina tour GCX switcher for $160 shipped. Not bad!

The tone from his VH4 amps rang in my head for 17 years after that first concert. It was bone crushing yet ultimate clarity at the same time. His settings never made sense until I ran low-mid output pickups into it. It just sounded so otherworldly in the front row.

I like how the VH4's master volume is barely above 9 o'clock :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: I know first hand all to well not only how loud these glorious amps go - but the variety of "sweet spots" the MV vs CV can offer a player. His gains are MAXED man!!!! Crazy.

Anyway - cool catch on the GCX - but studying those settings on the amp, well...that's money :2thumbsup:

Check my posts under the Diezel forum - I've always said Diezel amps favour lower/moderate output magnets. That's not to say you can't use rich pups, but IME, moderate output and even PAF low output (and P90s, my fave fro sizzle) give these amps the kiss of awesomeness.

How loud is your master volume a channel volume when you get it to sound just right . Like on channel 3

I run it around 11 to 12 o clock on stage. Freakin ripping at that point.

Channel volumes are at the marked settings left by Billy most of the time.
 
I wouldn't give that money mark a dime, although I am happy he had that no dimes shitter Aldis drop the belt to Murdoch here in STL. Taking Powerrr behind a paywall was a stupid idea.
