Mesa branded , brand new 150$ seems about the going rate but what's cool is one of my local stores had like 4 pairs in stock so no waiting. I bought a pair and took them home, I opened the box and examined them and was a little bummed because on one of the tubes one of the posts that holds the shielding under the getter was totally bent at an angle and I know they are supposed to be straight. So I took it back and got another pair that was correct, everything straight. I know the tube probably would have worked fine but it's seemed like the tube wouldnt have lasted as long with that one shield bent at an off angle. Obviously the tube passed the test at mesa but that does not mean it would have had a long life. If I'm paying 150$ I'm not taking any chances, can't wait to try these out. I've had some before, they are awesome tubes.

What store? I need a pair of EL 34's. Are they night and day different than new production or a slight improvement kinda thing?

Island Guitar at Ward Warehouse. they are very good tubes, I would say it is a pretty big improvement, make sure you examine the tubes, in case they are selling the one I turned back in. they have another quad of them at least over there. So actually that's all they should have left in the case because they are probably sending the one pair I turned in back to Mesa. And to be fair, the tube I traded back in wasn't actually bad it just probably would not have lasted a long time. These tubes are actually very consistent I have found, so it was rare that I got one that actually had a bent part inside.
