Congrats and HNBD

When you get time give us a little review or something will ya .... I don't even know what I'm looking at outside of the fact that it is a classy looking P style Bass.

Why would you put a jazz pick up in the bridge? Oh, never mind
'Cause then you theoretically have the best of both worlds.

The P PU's are "bassier" and more suited to old-school stuff like Motown.

The J's OTOH, especially at the bridge position, give you that middy, notey, Jaco kinda vibe.

What is it? What's the tuning? HNBD!

Classy looking bass. I see you went for the 5 string. Where's the amp that goes with it?

We're puttin' the band back together !

:rawk:
Sweet!
I'll be the guitar player

It's a Sire 2nd Gen P7 5 String
I was pretty impressed with the feel of it for being a Mid level instrument. Really nice. I just have it tuned to B standard for now to match up with my 7 string Strandberg. No amps for it as I'll probably just be using it through a Kemper for recording purposes. I think I have a bunch of bass profiles on a thumb drive somewhere that I didn't think I'd ever need.

My ex wife played bass so for 10 or so years there was always a bass around the house. I didn't play them a lot but always had fun when I did. I shoulda asked for one in the divorce lol

Anyways the big question is, what strap should I get for it? I like each guitar to have it's own strap. My birthday is coming up so I might treat myself to another Well Hung strap. That dude is great

yea man, this thing has so many knobs that i'm not sure what they all do yet. There is a switch for active/passive. Master Volume and Tone, and a couple concentric knobs that I have no idea about lol. I'm thinking some kind of bass/treble boosting and one of them must be a blend for the P and J pickups because there isn't a selector for them

HNBD!

I was expecting more strings tho. :D

I've had and played 4-strings forever, recently got my first 5-string, it's fretless which I prefer; not my first fretless. they are a blast to play. I got a Trace Elliot Transit-B for it, I use the DI out to powered PA. Worth a look IMO. They were on sale end of last year.

Oh okay, I can make out the Marcus Miller part now. If you end up going down the rabbit hole on extended range basses, definitely check out carvin/kiesel. I have a LB76 that's a phenomenal instrument. HNBD!

I don’t get the whole Marcus Miller thing. Like I get that Sire is the company, and Marcus Miller is a bassist, but it seems like all of their basses are Marcus Miller basses. Are they all signature models? Does he own the company?
Pretty weird.

Also after watching a handful of reviews, I’m learning how particular bassists are about their strings. I’m not ready for that. My whole life I’ve only ever decided between pink or green Ernie Balls.

"Dude, you have to get an amp."

But if I get an amp I’ll have to get a cab too, and I’m trying to get rid of those
