I am a big fan of the Tim and Timmy. I like the fact that you can change op-amps very easily to dial in the exact tone you want. I changed op-amps to JRC4558's in both of my pedals because I like a little grind to my sound. I have tried hi-fi op-amps to dial in a super smooth tone too.

Does the Danelectro have op-amp sockets?

Time to try the TLC2272 in your pedal. My favorite TS variant opamp. 9 volts only though.

you can add an opamp socket to any pedal just carefully remove the old chip with copper braid and seat a socket .

I have the CO-1 Drive and its noisy as hell. dont ever use anymore.
I actually just pulled both my TOD and CO-1 from my chain. I never realised just how noisy both these pedals were.

I bought a MXR GT-OD yesterday and it is the best od pedal I've ever tried.
VERY low noise, incredibley low actually. Smooth sounding and extremely tight as a boost, yet still aggressive with insane clarity.
