Hey,

here we have my first ever demo video of anything ever. Did I mention ever   ?

Dan Gower modded Marshall JVM210H, recorded with my Samsung Galaxy S3, the amp was around gig levels loud in the room.

EDITed the clip (= was lazy).

The usual disclaimers sloppy playing, clams, guitar needs tuning, hurry etc apply of course :D .

Punchy! I'm going to check it in a bit more detail when I'm home.

Coincidently, I was just wondering last week if that Kali mod could be done to a Marshall that already has the necessary buttons – or at least enough of them. Does it still have the JVM board, or are all the internals switched out?

Thanks for the clip!

YW :) and thx for checking it out!

I believe it's still got the JVM board, it's totally like "a normal" JVM in switching respects for example (2 channels with 3 modes midi switchable etc), but the channels are revoiced totally. Dan's description:

"The mod completely re-voices all the channels/modes of the amp. It's now more aggressive, tighter, more articulate, tracks much faster, has more upper mids and has a lot more gain than the stock JVM. All the gain is now usable too, even on the red mode of the overdrive channel."

It's not a Kali mod per say, I believe it's a one-off tweaked by Dan & his tremendously good ear for tone :D .

Sounds great, Dan does some great work.

Thx !

Yep, Dan sure knows what he's doing! And FWIW it couldn't have been easier to deal with him from start to finish. Me being in Finland and Dan in the UK, everything went smoother than silk (pun inteded :D ).

Sounds great Sami!!! Always loved Dan's work and this sounds great. Got to love Madhouse from Anthrax!

Thanks Chad :)! Yeah, Dan's a great tech, awesome set of ears on that male :D .

Hehe, yeah... you know I have absolutely no idea where those riffs came from. I've not played or listened to any of the thrashier songs I played on camera in years  ... !

Killer!!!  I am patiently waiting for the UPS guy to deliever the Marshall JCM 800 2203 KK++. He better so up or else!!! :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

Awesome clip Sami! Great playing and tone  Thanks for sharing!

Just to clarify :
I offer this mod for the JVM205/210/410 models. It really brings the JVM amps to life, makes them so much more usable in all modes and also gets them much closer to the sounds that can normally only be had from the mods i do to the older Marshalls (Cali/KK++/RockMonster mods etc).

The modification doesn't require the removal/replacement of the PCB and doesn't need any holes drilling either :)

As Sami mentioned, it's not quite the same as a Killer Kali++ Mod but it definitely gets into that territory and provides some massive tones!

Thx Dan :rawk:!

I'm glad I finally got a chance to do some kind of clip to demo the monster you created! I'll have to see if I can do another with a w/d setup later this month too.

Had a gig on Saturday, overall the fifth one with this amp, and I gotta say it is a dream come true for me !

All I had on stage was the amp, 4x12 and the 4 button footswitch plus a few guitars. Guitar into amp and that's it. No boosts or fx needed, only a slight reverb on leads/clean and that's it. I love the simplicity of this setup, and I can get all the tones I need so easily too.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I used a Joyo (!!!) PDI-09 clone instead of micing with excellent results as well. Very pleased!

Sounds good :) but I have same problems when I record with my S2, sound from the amp overdrives the built in microphone.
