I couldn't disagree more. I was very disappointed after hearing all the hype.

They had about 300 low grade warlocks and a fender strat.

I was more impressed by the CD store in the basement.

Granted this was 10-12 years ago, maybe they have revamped since?

I grew up just three blocks from there, so I went to the HOG two-four times a week. Neat place with alot of personality, but it kills me to see guitars stacked on top of each other with no AC in the summertime. You can get some very good deals though.....

i have heard they have some nice les paul historics, alot of people on the les paul forums love that place.

Yea...place is kinda nuts....3 and 4 thousand dollar guitars just stacked all over the place like they were a 50 dollar squire.

so many damn guitars it really gives ya a headache haha.
can barely make it thru the isles. they got some good deal for sure.
makes guitar center look like a damn 50 square foot pawn shop, just the massive amount of guitars & amps everywhere, like nothing is in order
that place next doors got a good garbage plate tho!

Henry J. from Gibson apparently went to Bishop Kearny high school in Rochester, which is not too far away from the HOG. I think they get some special products and one-off's from Gibson based on this....

Yeah the place is crazy, alot of vintage. It does bother me though when the instrument are just stacked in makeshift cases like that. Overall a wonderful place though. I have purchased from there several times and continue to go back.
