A few of the guy from RT may have seen this, but it is a good read. Alan from Carol-Ann has a bunch of great posts discussing the LDR's as well as a mod to help thicken it up at lower volumes.

What do I get if I get it right? As soon as someone on TGP mentions that they owned/own a Cameron Modded Marshall you KNOW they're a rig talker.

Alan is everywhere. I enjoy reading his posts. The guy is for sure plugged in and speaks with authority.

It's nice not having to spend more time re-tubing an amp than playing it, and having one with the factory mods, so no more of that modding non-sense. I don't even know what tubes are in it yet, other than the 5881's. I guess I could remove the front grill and do that "Preamp Tube Cover Removal Mod" though.

Those were some of the reasons why I got rid of the LDR's in my SLOtype clone I built also just the fact I was trying to get rid of the channel bleed.

Im probably alone here but I could never gel with the SLO or any Soldano for that matter. Granted, this was YEARS ago but as much as Ive dug what Ive heard from others, Soldanos never did it for me ( IVe had the same experience with Bogners)

I think they are love/hate for sure. It is a controversial amp.

I didnt hate it and Id love to revisit it for sure. These days though, The JVM is doing it for me in spades and I really dont see that changing...

My Avenger with SLO trannies sounded HUGE...even at super low volumes. That was a killer amp
