What can you wonderful people tell me about the Green Rhino? I'm thinking of picking one up to boost my Jubilee

Have one - nice pedal. A refined/expanded Tube Screamer. Nothing groundbreaking, but good.

Just played one of these again recently. I agree, they have the starting point of a good TS, but are so much more versatile. More open, a bit more dirty and with more bark. Tube Screamers always sounded a bit thin, flat and squashed when used for a stand-alone overdrive whereas the GR sounds more robust and has a lot more detail in the overdrive sounds. It works well as a boost too.

I've heard great things about them boosting marshalls

I didn't spend a ton of time boosting with it, just boosted a Roadster and an Egnater at GC. Having owned a Recto for years and several 808s and TS9s, I'd still say the real 808 has the slight advantage for boosting. The fact that it is a more "greasy" and squashed tone by nature seems to work perfect when boosting a tube amp. The Green Rhino is sort of like the MXR GT-OD, in that it's more amp-like and gritty/dry than a TS and when boosting it gives the amp a little more of a hard feel. Just depends on what you're going for but I like an 808 (or my Xotic BB+) for boosting and bringing out the best of my amp's gain sounds, and I prefer the Green Rhino for its overdrive sounds through a clean channel.

The GR was my fav booster when I was using them. They have that great ability to contour the mids and lows which is fantastic. I also love the casing and switch. Makes me want to plug it in tonight just talking about it.

They're very smooth sounding and you can add or lower bottom end with it. Yeah, nothing groundbreaking but a very good TS type boost pedal.

Thank you so much guys now i just need to sell the pedals i don't want

I don't think I've ever read a bad thing about them. Way Huge and Dunlop make good stuff. Like what everyone else said, it's a modified tube screamer. I've had a few WH/Dunlop pedals, and they're extremely durable too. I think the casing is aluminum?

Yep the case is anodized aluminum. Feels pretty sturdy. Also has a flip open battery compartment, which is nice. Don't have to unscrew anything to get at the battery.

It's my main boost for both my 2203 and DSL. Perfect Marshall booster. TS's usually drop low end. This thing has a dial to add it back in. Ditched the Keeley SD1 I used for 10 years after i got the Green Rhino

Yep, they are very nice... I agree with above.

Lots of volume, lots of control over the bass....
