Holy shit! that's a sexy axe. Nice woods.

Welcome aboard

edit: just looked at your website. I really like your vision. Why Khaler?

Thanks for the compliments! I really appreciate them, I do my best to create the most toneful guitars possible:)
ummm...as far as my choice of Kahler ...there is a number of reasons why...

1. made in the USA
2. more adjustability, better fine tuning
3. when someone orders one I have Gary Kahler autograph the bottom of it:)
4. less wood to be routed out of your guitar
5. spongier tone, definitely a completely different tone from fulcrum style trems
6. super smooth feel
7. they look cool:0)

of course i am a fan of all styles of trems, however if i had to choose 1 only it would be the kahler.

If you guys would?...give me your input on doing a limited run of Serenghetti's using the Kahler 2700 "killer" fulcrum trems. I have a limited supply. let me know if this is something of interest or not:) (if you havent seen the "killer" go to the custom option page on my site)

You know, I have not even tried the latest offerings from Kahler, I tried 2 of them back in the day, and there was just too much movement in them for me. In the end I had to pay more attention to what I was doing to keep myself from going out of tune because of the way I palm muted, which was not really like everyone else did it. They were ultimately smooth, and stayed in tune well, I just could not get around that. I had the same problem with Floyds, and ended up going back to a fixed bridge. just my 2 cents ;)

I love Kahlers and I love the way you recess them.

I owned a lot of different Kahlers over the years and my only complaint is that they have to have a decent locking nut.

Any reason why you are not using a Floyd locking nut with the Kahler?

well, I'm not opposed to using a floyd nut, however the problem I have with floyds is that they only come in a 12 degree radius, which means if you use a 16 degree radius you have to start shimming etc. Floyd nuts are 12 degree radius also.
i have heard people state that they have had problems with the after the nut locks, although i have had no problems with it. I do have a trick or too in the way I file the nut slots, and you have to make sure the string clamps are extra tight on the D & G string to ensure the G string is fully clamped because the D string being a bit larger than the G string. As long as the kahler nut is install properly, and the clamps are good and tight, you generally won't run into any problems.

hey JT, I can understand your pain, if you liked the Kahler's fine tuning and such, you may want to try out their new pro series 3300 fixed bridge. It's a non tremolo version of the Kahler pro series...just like its dive bombing sibling minus the bar...and their ultra easy to install.

Thanks bud ...recessing the Kahler is definitely the best way to get the lowest action and it also boosts the tuning stability as well :0)
