Anyone tried the GT EL34M and or the Mullard "Re-issues." Want to try something different and thought I might give them a try in either the Plexi build I have or a Mesa Stiletto.

I'm a week into some RI Mullards and I like them. That said, these days i am not sure what I am listening for in a tube. These do not have too many highs that offend me, good solid balanced crunch, and tight enough in the bass. I'm thinking I might like KT77's and 6CA7's a tad better but I can compare these to the Svetlana that i had in this 2204 clone of mine before and I'd say the Mullard are smoother to my ears on the top end. Not as harsh. Of course a lot of that can be compensated by tweaking the treb and presence knobs but this is what my ears tell me. Just make sure you don't bias them too cold.

I just realized that I need to find a tube dealer who can pick out ones that naturally Bias hot in case they go in the Stiletto.
