the mic is less than ideal... I suppose when recording with a camera at this angle the second half of the clip is better. It's definitely more clear in this comparison. I'm guessing the Engl was first and the camera failed to capture its low end resonance.
Engl will be more mid scooped, compressed and sound good with single note riffing, 4th chords, 5th chords etc. a lil hi fi sizzle and probably wont' cut in mix great but good micing and eq'ing at soundboard can help that. Soldano is much more open and a clean gain.. more aggressive mids and note separation. Probably won't feel as playable to the ear and fingers as the engl but to each his own. Listen to Jeff Loomis.. still plenty of cut but that guy can make a bugera sound great.
