guitar project - paint or stain this guitar? pics included.

got this guitar I'm messing with - leaning towards just staining, but still considering painting it. Any ideas? If I stain, should I go dark? FYI - I'm definitely no pro at this and just stripped the paint off to make a slant in the body where the right arm goes, and I'm not worried about looking too professional, as long as it looks ok from stage.

Yeah... staining is easy. You just rub it on. There are different kinds (water, oil etc).

You can also use some Minwax stains. I forget which ones, check Reranch. They use it all the time with good results.

I saw a couple stained guitars recently, they looked pretty cool, like a transparent color with no gloss. One was blue and one was green, I love the way most guitars look in green so that's the one I thought looked better but the blue was cool too :thumbsup:
