Guitar Splitter?

wouldn't an ABY do what you're looking for?
I'm interpreting this correctly, right? guitar into amp>iso cab, and a completely separate amp/cab in the room with you?
I have a Morley ABY that I got for 30 bucks used that does the job.

An A/B/Y isn't buffered, so you'll lose a lot of top end.
You need some sort of buffer in the chain to prevent signal loss.

Not to mention ground loop hum. I have a Morley ABY that hums like crazy with two amps connected. I'm thinking the Lehle splitter or something very similiar is what I'll need. Although, I hate to spend $159.00 just to split the signal.

You can make a ground lifter (like the EbTech Hum X) for around $10.
It kills the loop by safely lifting the ground, but re-connects the ground if it's needed.

I can send you the info if you're interested.

I hope these videos help to answer the mystery of ground loops, shielding, noise and most importantly safety.

I researched the whole A/B/Y thing a while back, and came to the conclusion that for the money spent on a good A/B/Y "pedal", I could get a used GCX and grow into the MIDI control capabilities. Just my two cents.

I'm using a Palmer Splitter to feed my preamps, active, transfomer isolated, battery or 9VWallWart driven. I can recommend it.

The Radial ABY is great, for around $70. No hum. The Morley is a ripoff.

A Zvex SHO with 2 output jacks works equally as well, in my experience.

Oh wow, I never thought about using my GCX to get the job done. Thanks, I'll give that a whirl.

Awesome! Had no idea you already had a GCX. The first diagram is Y only... for A/B/Y you want this...

Yep, very cool. I checked out the manual online. I'll set this up when I get home tonight.

Again, thanks for the help! :D

Hope you get what you want to happen. Credit where credit due. If anyone's interested, my thread about the GCX with LOTS of helpful input from Steve, Zach, Ralph and others.
